"Tiejian Bridge Pile 1" Pile Driving Vessel Departs for Brazil to Participate in Cross-Sea Bridge Construction

The reporter learned from China Railway Construction Corporation Limited that on the 27th, the world's largest pile-driving vessel, "Tiejian Bridge Pile No. 1," invested in and built by China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Bureau Group, departed from the foreign trade terminal of Lusi Port in Jiangsu and set sail for Brazil to participate in the construction of the Salvador Sea Crossing Bridge. According to the relevant person in charge of China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Bureau Group, before departure, both the ship and shore sides completed the preparation of a special plan, route survey, and risk assessment. According to plan, the vessel will pass through the Strait of Malacca and the Cape of Good Hope into the South Atlantic, arriving in the waters off Recife on the northeastern coast of Brazil, with a voyage of 11,300 nautical miles and an estimated sailing time of 45 days. The Salvador Sea Crossing Bridge spans Todos os Santos Bay in Brazil. The water depth at the main bridge pile foundation construction site is 64 meters, and the marine geological conditions are complex. "Tiejian Bridge Pile No. 1" has a total length of 130.5 meters, an operating water depth of up to 70 meters, a pile frame height of 156 meters, and a pile lifting capacity of 700 tons. It is currently the pile-driving vessel with the highest pile frame, the largest pile lifting capacity, and the deepest operating water depth in the world, and can solve the operational bottlenecks of traditional pile-driving equipment in deep and distant seas and complex sea conditions, such as "not being able to reach, not being able to drive accurately, and not being able to stay stable." The main span of the Salvador Sea Crossing Bridge is 682 meters, and the total length of the entire line is 46.8 kilometers.
