The Yichang-Xingshan high-speed railway will open for operation on September 28, with the fastest travel time from Yichang North to Xingshan Station being 30 minutes, according to China Railway. Once operational, it will form a connecting passage between the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu high-speed railway and the Zhengzhou-Chongqing high-speed railway. After high-speed trains between Wuhan and Chongqing run via the Yichang-Xingshan high-speed railway, the route will be further optimized and the travel time further reduced, with the fastest journey between the two cities taking 3 hours and 54 minutes.
