Crypto bill fails in U.S. Senate; Bitcoin and Ether fall to lowest since June
U.S. senators from both parties on Tuesday blocked advancement of a landmark digital asset market structure bill in a procedural vote. Democrats said they were concerned about ethics provisions addressing the handling of Trump's cryptocurrency business interests. Bitcoin extended its decline in response, falling as much as 5.3% to $74,910. Ether also moved lower, dropping more than 8.3% at one point, with some smaller tokens posting even larger declines. Bitcoin and Ether prices hit their lowest levels since June.
