Chilean authorities will investigate the fatal accident in the Antofagasta mining area.

According to Chile's mining regulator, a fatal accident occurred on Tuesday at a mining site in the Antofagasta Region in northern Chile. The National Geology and Mining Service said in a post on X that the accident occurred at the Zulema I-Daniela II mining site in the city of Taltal. Sernageomin said that an investigation team from its regional office is heading to the scene to investigate, but did not provide specific details of the accident.
