Carlyle CEO Expects Fed Will Not Start a New Round of Aggressive Rate Hikes
Carlyle Group CEO Harvey Schwartz said that while the market appears to have priced in rate hikes, he believes the Federal Reserve is unlikely to raise rates repeatedly. In an interview in Washington on Tuesday, Schwartz said U.S. economic data remains strong even as conflicts unfold in Europe and Iran and inflation persists. He expects the Fed to continue watching economic data. "The market clearly expects rate hikes," he said. "But it doesn't feel like we're entering a rate-hike cycle, nor does it feel like we're entering a cycle of significant rate cuts."
