From January to August this year, China led the formulation of 214 international standards.

The Standardization Administration of China has learned that since 2026, China has led the formulation of 214 international standards within the International Organization for Standardization and the International Electrotechnical Commission, including the top-level framework for smart city data utilization and guidelines for intelligent manufacturing in the steel industry. It has newly proposed 288 international standard proposals, such as those for solid-state batteries and humanoid robot datasets. China has also newly assumed 14 positions as chairs and secretariats of technical bodies of international standards organizations in areas such as smart cities, avionics process management, power meteorology, and artificial ice and snow landscapes. In recent years, China has actively promoted the transformation of advanced technological experience and practical achievements into international standards, aligned with global industrial development needs, and deepened standards coordination with other countries in fields such as digital technology, new energy, and high-end equipment. Next, China will continue to uphold the concept of open cooperation and mutual benefit, actively advance international standard formulation, and provide solid standards support for the stable and smooth operation of global industrial and supply chains and the regulated and orderly development of emerging industries.
