Guidelines for Building the Standards System for the Power Battery Recycling and Utilization Industry Are Open for Public Comment
The Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the "Guidelines for the Construction of the Standard System for the Power Battery Recycling and Utilization Industry" on the 15th, proposing that by 2030, more than 50 national standards will be formulated or revised, and a standard system for power battery recycling and utilization covering the entire industrial chain and the full product life cycle will be basically established, gradually forming a standard system featuring efficient resource utilization, full industrial chain coverage, and domestic and international coordination. Power batteries are rich in strategic resources such as nickel, cobalt, and lithium, and their recycling and utilization can effectively alleviate and reduce import dependence and enhance the country's ability to guarantee the supply of mineral resources. Establishing and improving the standard system for power battery recycling and utilization is of great significance for regulating industrial development, safeguarding strategic resource security, and leading industrial technological innovation. The draft for comments proposes to accelerate the construction of a standard system for power battery recycling and utilization covering the entire industrial chain of used power batteries"collectionstorage and transportationphysical treatmentchemical treatment"and the full product life cycle. The structure of the standard system for the power battery recycling and utilization industry includes six parts: basic general standards, collection and classification standards, physical treatment standards, chemical treatment standards, comprehensive utilization product standards, and green and low-carbon standards.
