On the news front, according to reports, Oracle has launched a new round of layoffs, with the proportion of layoffs in some teams potentially reaching double digits. The layoffs had already been brewing internally and are mainly aimed at reducing salary costs to support the company's continuously expanding AI infrastructure investment. Oracle's total workforce in fiscal year 2026 has decreased by 21,000 people, a reduction of about 13%. Before this round of layoffs, the company's workforce was approximately 141,000. At the same time, the company is aggressively building data centers. Capital expenditure in the first fiscal quarter reached $28.5 billion, up from $8.5 billion in the same period last year, and it maintained its capital expenditure forecast of $90 billion to $95 billion for fiscal year 2027.
