Apple responds to "major iPhone 17 price cut"
Recently, China News Service reported that the standard version of the iPhone 17 could be as low as 5,499 yuan at some Apple authorized stores after stacking discounts and national subsidies, equivalent to a 1,300 yuan saving; the standard version of the iPhone 17 Pro could be 500 yuan cheaper. On September 14, #iPhone17BigPriceDrop# trended on social media. In response, Apple customer service said: "At present, Apple's official website has not issued any price reduction notice." Regarding price cuts by third-party channels, customer service reminded consumers to be wary of risks. Apple customer service said third-party channels are mainly divided into three categories: ordinary unauthorized third-party sellers may offer the lowest prices, but there is a risk of refurbished devices or substandard supply; ordinary authorized stores, although they have sales rights, do not have their supply registered in Apple's official backend, so non-official supply may be mixed in; some products from Apple premium authorized stores can be checked in the official backend, offering relatively more protection, but this is still not equivalent to an official retail store. Prices across the above three types of offline channels may fluctuate due to store anniversaries or national subsidy promotions, and consumers should purchase cautiously.
