In August of this year, Yantian Port's container throughput exceeded 1.6 million TEUs for the first time, setting a new monthly record since the port opened. Of this, export laden containers totaled approximately 670,000 TEUs, up 13.9% year on year. According to data from the Yantian Maritime Safety Administration, from January to August this year, the cumulative shore power supply to ships at Yantian Port reached 23.3 million kWh, a record high for the same period in history, reducing ship carbon emissions by about 18,039 tonnes, equivalent to planting about 1 million trees.
