Ammonia leak at a fertilizer plant in southern Iraq has caused over 100 casualties.
On the 14th local time, the Iraqi Ministry of Health released the latest casualty figures, stating that an ammonia leak accident at a state-owned fertilizer company in Basra Province in southern Iraq the previous day had caused 2 deaths and 114 injuries, most of whom were lightly injured. The Iraqi civil defense authorities previously said that a preliminary investigation showed the accident was triggered by a sudden unexpected gas leak, and the site has now been brought under control.
