Fu Linghui, spokesperson for the National Bureau of Statistics, chief economist, and director of the Comprehensive Statistics Department of National Economy, stated that from an industrial perspective, the pace of upgrading in the industry is steady, manufacturing strength is improving, and the proportions of high-tech manufacturing and equipment manufacturing are also steadily increasing. In the first seven months, the added value of high-tech manufacturing and equipment manufacturing accounted for 17.9% and 37.2% of the total added value of industrial enterprises above designated size, respectively, up by 1.5 and 1.7 percentage points year-on-year.
