Opening of the Seventeenth Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification

According to the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, on August 17, the 17th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification opened in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. This conference, themed "Restoring Land, Reigniting Hope," brings together representatives from 197 parties to the Convention, as well as from the United Nations, other international organizations, civil society organizations, research institutions, and enterprises, to discuss and exchange ideas on issues such as degraded land restoration, sustainable land management, drought resilience, and grassland protection and restoration. The Chinese government delegation will participate in high-level dialogues on financing, drought resistance, and grassland issues, advocating for the establishment of an International Grassland Day to further promote the international community's ongoing cooperation in grassland protection and restoration and to contribute positively to the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
