Wang Yuanqiang, former member of the Standing Committee of the Renhuai Municipal Committee of Zunyi City, Guizhou Province, and former Party Secretary of Maotai Town, has been expelled from the Party and public office.

According to the news from the Zunyi Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision: With the approval of the Zunyi Municipal Committee, the Zunyi Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision has initiated an investigation into Wang Yuanqiang, former Standing Committee member of the Renhuai Municipal Committee and former Secretary of the Maotai Town Party Committee, for serious disciplinary violations and illegal activities. The investigation revealed that Wang Yuanqiang lost his ideals and beliefs, betrayed his original mission, and resisted organizational scrutiny; he breached the bottom line of integrity by accepting gifts that may influence the impartial performance of duties, engaging in profit-making activities in violation of regulations, and using his power or influence to seek benefits for others; he improperly intervened in and interfered with the contracting of engineering projects. By taking advantage of his position, he sought profits for others in terms of project contracting and business operations, and illegally accepted huge amounts of property. Wang Yuanqiang seriously violated the Party's political discipline, integrity discipline, work discipline, and living discipline, constituting severe job-related violations and being suspected of bribery. Furthermore, he did not restrain himself or stop after the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, with serious nature and adverse effects, and should be dealt with severely. In accordance with relevant regulations such as the "Regulations on Disciplinary Action of the Communist Party of China," the "Supervision Law of the People's Republic of China," and the "Administrative Punishment Law for Public Officials of the People's Republic of China," after deliberation by the Standing Committee meeting of the Zunyi Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and with the approval of the Zunyi Municipal Committee, it has been decided to expel Wang Yuanqiang from the Party; the Zunyi Municipal Supervisory Committee will dismiss him from public office; his qualifications as a representative of the Sixth Party Congress of Zunyi City and the Seventh Party Congress of Renhuai City will be terminated; his ill-gotten gains from disciplinary and illegal activities will be confiscated; and his suspected criminal issues will be transferred to the prosecutorial organs for legal review and prosecution, along with the properties involved.
