Changqing Oilfield sets a new record for the longest horizontal section in deep coalbed methane drilling in China.

According to China National Petroleum Corporation, recently, a deep-layer coalbed methane ultra-long horizontal well deployed by the natural gas evaluation project team in the eastern Ordos Basin has been successfully drilled. The horizontal section of this well measures 3,100 meters, with a coal seam drilling encounter rate of up to 95.8%, setting a new domestic record for the longest horizontal section in deep-layer coalbed methane drilling.
