Hualian Holdings: Received notice of investment review from Canada's FIRES regarding the lithium salt lake project.

Hualian Holdings announced that on August 14, 2026, it received a "Notice Letter" from the Canadian foreign investment review and economic security authority, which stated that the companys investment in the Salar de Arizaro lithium salt lake project in Argentina may affect Canadas national security, and further reviews may be initiated within 45 days. The company plans to acquire 100% of Argentum Lithium S.A. for $175 million to obtain an 80% interest in the project by December 2025. Currently, the company is actively communicating with the seller to address this issue, and it is not yet possible to assess the impact; thus, the transaction carries uncertainty.
