According to reporters from China National Railway Group Co., Ltd., in the first seven months of this year, the national railway transported 2.8 billion passengers, a year-on-year increase of 4.1%, setting a new historical record for the same period. In these seven months, the railway department effectively utilized resources from new lines and stations such as the Xi'an East to Shiyan East section of the Wuhan-Xi'an high-speed railway and the Lankou East to Jiande section of the Jinhua-Jiande high-speed railway, increasing capacity deployment. The national railway arranged an average of 11,462 passenger trains daily, an increase of 571 trains or 5.2% year-on-year. In terms of cross-border passenger transport, the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed railway sent 20.049 million cross-border passengers, while the China-Laos railway transported 214,000 cross-border passengers, showing year-on-year growth of 11.5% and 38.2%, respectively. The railway department actively adapted to the increase in passenger flow brought about by the national visa-free transit policy, providing convenience for foreign travelers, with 14.852 million foreign passengers transported by national railways, a year-on-year increase of 32.5%. Meanwhile, the integration of rail travel and tourism has shown remarkable results. The railway department actively coordinated with local cultural and tourism departments, strengthened connections with scenic spots and hotels, and created new scenarios and business models under the "railway + tourism" concept, effectively boosting cultural and tourism consumption. In the first seven months, the national railway operated a total of 2,159 tourist trains, including 1,184 special tourist trains and 975 tourist lines.
