Waste oil from restaurants experiences a surge in value after transforming, with export orders stretching into next year.

In the new energy companys factory area in Lianyungang, Jiangsu, hundreds of oil tankers operate busily every day. Approximately 2,000 tons of waste oil from kitchen waste treatment plants across the country are transported to the factory daily, where they undergo fine processing to achieve a remarkable transformation. This recycled raw material has a wide range of applications, producing biodiesel, sustainable aviation fuel, detergents, industrial lubricants, etc., realizing resource recycling and reuse. Gu Guangyang, chairman of Jiangsu Lianyungang Willers New Energy Co., Ltd., introduced that after entering the factory, the waste cooking oil is subjected to multiple processes, including heating, settling, centrifugation, and filtration, effectively reducing impurities such as metals, phosphorus, chlorine, and nitrogen in the oil, resulting in a high-quality industrial-grade mixed oil after purification. It is understood that since the beginning of this year, the industrial-grade mixed oil output of this company has exceeded 350,000 tons, with half of the products being exported overseas. Gu Guangyang stated that the companys export volume in the first half of the year increased by 20% year-on-year, with prices continuing to rise, from about 7,000 yuan per ton at the beginning of the year to 7,800 yuan in July, reflecting an increase of nearly 10% over six months. The company is currently operating at full capacity, with orders booked until 2027. The phase III project is set to be put into production in early next year, at which point the annual production capacity will approach 1 million tons.
