On August 14, Cheng Fubo, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council, visited China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) to conduct research on energy security, technological innovation, industrial development, deepening reforms, and party building. He emphasized the need to earnestly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important discourse on national energy security, fully carry out the new energy security strategy of "four revolutions, one cooperation," better coordinate development and safety, firmly establish bottom-line thinking and extreme thinking, and fully strengthen innovation, promote transformation, stabilize growth, and prevent risks. He called for a continuous increase in oil and gas exploration and development efforts, enhancement of energy supply capacity, advancement of green transformation and optimization of industrial layout, and acceleration of building a world-class comprehensive energy and chemical company that endures across generations, providing strong support for advancing the energy revolution and ensuring energy security. Cheng Fubo gained insights into the operation of the company's intelligent operation center, held discussions with the group leadership team, and solicited their opinions and suggestions. He pointed out that the development history of CNPC is a tale of hard work and entrepreneurial spirit, witnessing the journey of the countrys oil industry from weak to strong. In particular, in recent years, the company has resolutely implemented the decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, actively responding to the turbulence in international situations and changes in the industry, continuously strengthening oil and gas exploration, development, and increasing reserves and production. This has formed a pattern of "three 100 million tons" in terms of domestic crude oil production, domestic natural gas production equivalent, and overseas oil and gas equity production equivalent, and this pattern continues to solidify, effectively ensuring supply and stabilizing the market, making solid strides in high-quality development, and fully demonstrating the role of the energy supply "pillar." Cheng Fubo emphasized that CNPC should adhere to the guidance of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important directives, focus on ensuring energy supply, increase efforts to boost reserves and production, coordinate efficient exploration with effective development, and work diligently to enhance the capacity for acquiring high-quality resources, ensuring a more secure energy supply.
