The Chinese team has achieved a seamless technical chain in the field of wall processing for the world's largest "artificial sun."
According to news from China National Nuclear Corporation, the team from the Southwestern Institute of Physics under the group has recently made significant progress in the field of wall treatment technology for international nuclear fusion experimental reactors: not only did they successfully pass the final review of the supplementary design for the permanent electrode project of the glow discharge cleaning system, but they also led a successful bid in collaboration with China National Nuclear Corporation's Second and Third Design Institutes and signed contracts in France for the design and manufacturing of the boronization system and the X-ray crystal spectrometer gas supply system. This marks a new expansion for the Chinese team in the core technology field of wall treatment for ITER devices, extending their business range from the existing glow discharge cleaning to boronization wall treatment, thus achieving a seamless technology chain from impurity removal to surface pretreatment, which will provide crucial support for the all-tungsten first wall operation of the ITER device.
