Gansu has adjusted the drought defense emergency response from Level IV to Level III for five cities.

On the 15th at 11:00, the Gansu Provincial Water Resources Department adjusted the drought defense emergency response from Level IV to Level III for Jiuquan City, Zhangye City, Jinchang City, Wuwei City, and Baiyin City. A Level III drought defense emergency response was initiated for Jiayuguan City. Due to the recent period of persistently high temperatures, insufficient precipitation, low river flow, and inadequate reservoir storage, the drought conditions in areas such as Jiuquan City, Jiayuguan City, Zhangye City, Jinchang City, Wuwei City, and Baiyin City in Gansu Province have further developed, and it is anticipated that drought conditions will continue for some time.
