The ship routing system along the Liaoning coast officially begins implementation today.

According to news from the Ministry of Transport's Maritime Safety Administration, China's first ship routing system covering the entire coastal area of Liaoning Province the Liaoning Coastal Ship Routing System has been officially implemented today. By establishing various routing measures and special regional navigation rules, it achieves the separation of commercial and fishing operations, allowing each to operate in their own domain. The new regulations build upon the existing ship routing systems in the Laotie Mountain waterway and the navigation segregation system in the Dalian Port Dashi Mountain waterway. It introduces four new ship routing systems for the northern Yellow Sea, from Laotie Mountain waterway to the northern Bohai Sea, from Laotie Mountain waterway to the northwestern Bohai Sea, and from Laotie Mountain waterway to the western Bohai Sea. By setting up lane navigation systems and warning zones, the overlapping ship traffic is integrated into separate, non-interfering "maritime highways," reducing the frequency of crossing encounters and ensuring the safety of navigation. The new regulations stipulate that ships along the Liaoning coast should primarily navigate within the established routing system and are not allowed to anchor or engage in fishing, aquaculture, or other obstructive activities in the routing system or its adjacent waters, effectively spatially separating commercial shipping and fishing operations and significantly enhancing the navigation efficiency for ships in the Liaoning coastal area.
