The first compliant Hong Kong dollar stablecoin has been launched.
On August 14, a reporter learned from Standard Chartered Bank that the financial company Dunpoint Financial, jointly established by the bank, Anpi Group, and Hong Kong Telecommunications, has officially launched HKDAP. As a result, the Hong Kong dollar stablecoin has officially been issued. It is reported that HKDAP is currently open for beta testing access for institutional distributors and professional investors, while Hong Kong's two major licensed virtual asset trading platforms, OSL and HashKey, have become the first authorized distributors. Standard Chartered Bank stated that as more ecosystem partners join, Dunpoint Financial will also advance its application layout for ordinary retail users based on actual market conditions. "The goal is to open retail services as early as the end of 2026."
