LG Electronics announced on Friday that it plans to launch a new generation of humanoid robots with bipedal walking capabilities based on NVIDIA's robotics platform in the first quarter of 2027. The robot will be equipped with NVIDIA's Jetson Thor robotics chip module and developed based on the NVIDIA Isaac GR00T humanoid robot foundation model and the Holoscan for Robotics safety system. LG intends to integrate the technologies and capabilities of its major subsidiaries into this robot, including actuators provided by LG Electronics, sensors from LG Innotek, and batteries from LG Energy Solution. Additionally, the two companies will engage in comprehensive collaboration in three major areas: robotics, AI factories, and mobile transportation.
