The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is further evaluating whether this incident shares commonalities with similar cases, such as the 2018 Southwest Airlines engine failure. Previous inspection records indicate that the engine underwent routine maintenance in May of this year, at which time no anomalies were detected.
