On August 12, a netizen posted a video reflecting that at a Liu Wenxiang Spicy Hot Pot store near the Shaheding subway station in Tianhe District, Guangzhou, an employee was seen directly grabbing ingredients with bare hands while preparing takeout orders. The video shows an employee holding a bucket of ingredients and a takeout order in one hand while using the other hand to directly grab the ingredients for the takeout, without wearing a work cap or gloves throughout the process. On August 13, a reporter attempted to contact the person who posted the video, but as of the time of publication, they had not yet responded. On the same day, the reporter checked and called the Liu Wenxiang Spicy Hot Pot Shaheding store. After verification by the store manager, it was confirmed that the store in the video was indeed theirs. The manager stated that according to regulations, all employees must wear work caps on the job and gloves when handling ingredients. The manager mentioned that the employee in the video was a newly hired staff member who might have forgotten to wear gloves due to the busyness from a high volume of orders. According to regulations, gloves must be worn; when we are busy, he might have forgotten to wear them. At the same time, the manager indicated that the store had already decided to terminate the employee prior to this incident and would also enhance employee training to prevent such issues from occurring in the future. The manager then informed the reporter that the company had already noticed the situation and required the store to complete rectification within 24 hours. The company has stated that rectification must be done within 24 hours; we will close for 24 hours.
