Jilin Province has extended the rental driving service period, with female drivers in Changchun having a service period that exceeds other regions by 7 years.

According to a report from the Jilin Provincial Transport Management Bureau on August 12, 2026, the Jilin Provincial Department of Transportations initiative to extend the working age for taxi drivers and broaden employment channels for the public has been selected as one of the 10 provincial-level Rule of Law for the Peoples Practical Projects. It has been announced to the public by the provincial party committee's office for promoting the rule of law in the province. The retirement age for taxi drivers will be extended from 55 to 58 years for women and from 60 to 63 years for men.
