"Fed mouthpiece" Nick Timiraos: U.S. CPI data shows that core commodity prices rose 0.20% month-on-month in July, ending a two-month consecutive decline. This is the largest monthly increase since September 2025. Housing costs increased moderately, rising 0.14% month-on-month in July. The core service prices, excluding housing, rose 0.19% month-on-month (still lower than May due to a significant decrease in June).
