South Korean chip manufacturers saw their stock prices rise after reports emerged that Temasek plans to invest in their shares. Following a report from the Asian Business Daily that Temasek is in talks with South Korean companies to invest in Samsung and SK Hynix, shares of Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix surged more than 8% at one point. It is reported that Temasek Holdings is considering the timing of this investment and plans to invest directly through its internal investment team. The South Korean KOSPI index also rose by about 5% as a result. In July, concerns about the rapid construction of artificial intelligence infrastructure led to a liquidation of leveraged positions, causing severe sell-offs in the shares of these chip manufacturers. Recently, as market attention shifted to the shareholder return policies these companies are planning, stock prices have begun to rebound.
