The Thai government has announced a suspension of firearm purchase licenses and will conduct a nationwide verification of licenses related to unfinished firearm transactions. The announcement includes multiple gun control measures, such as increasing inspections of firearm dealers and ammunition at shooting ranges, and plans to require firearm possession and use licenses to be renewed every three years. The Thai Ministry of the Interior will submit a draft amendment to the Firearms Act within 60 days. Thai Prime Minister Anutin ordered enhanced gun control measures nationwide during a cabinet meeting on the 11th, aiming to crack down on illegal firearms possession and the black market for guns.
