The Ministry of Natural Resources has initiated a Level IV response for geological disaster prevention in Beijing.

According to predictions from meteorological departments and assessments from the Geological Disaster Technical Guidance Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources, affected by the residual circulation of Typhoon No. 13 "Bai Dolphin," there will be strong rainfall in some areas of Beijing over the next three days. The southwestern and northeastern regions of Beijing have a higher risk of geological disasters. At 3 PM on August 11, the Ministry of Natural Resources initiated a Level IV response for geological disaster prevention in Beijing. The Ministry requires the natural resource management departments of Beijing to enhance risk awareness and a sense of urgency, strengthen bottom-line thinking and extreme thinking, and pay close attention to the prevention and response to geological disasters triggered by heavy rainfall. They are to organize timely inspections and investigations, effectively carry out monitoring and early warning, joint assessment, disaster and risk response, duty personnel arrangements, and information reporting. The China Geological Survey and the Geological Disaster Technical Guidance Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources will strengthen joint assessments and expert dispatch, and fully assist local authorities in carrying out geological disaster prevention work.
