On August 10, reporters learned that the Beijing Water Authority has enhanced its monitoring, forecasting, and early warning capabilities, initially forming three lines of defense for rainwater monitoring and forecasting in the capital. The construction of the water management "Beijing Model" system has been advanced, with flood forecasting lead times extended to over 12 hours. Located in the Haihe River Basin, Beijing has mountainous areas covering approximately 62%, with rainfall during the flood season from June to August accounting for over 80% of the annual total.
