The flight from Shenzhen to Wuxi was struck by lightning, and China Southern Airlines responded: more than 20 lightning strike marks were found on the fuselage.

Recently, a netizen posted that the Southern Airlines flight CZ3209 from Shenzhen to Wuxi encountered a lightning strike while taxiing for takeoff. A few minutes later, the captain announced that the flight would return to the gate for inspection. Originally scheduled to take off at 4:30 PM, the flight was delayed to 8:40 PM, resulting in a 3-hour delay, and passengers were subsequently arranged to switch to a different aircraft. In response, a Southern Airlines staff member stated that on August 8, the CZ3209 flight from Shenzhen to Wuxi was scheduled to take off from Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, but during taxiing at Shenzhen Airport, the aircraft apparently suffered a lightning strike, leading to the decision to return for inspection.
