On August 6, local time, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued an airworthiness directive applicable to three models of Boeing aircraft, estimating an impact on 471 planes registered in the United States. The FAA stated that it had received reports of cracks appearing in the fuselages of some aircraft, which could adversely affect the structural integrity of the planes. The directive requires inspections of these aircraft. The directive will take effect on September 10. (CCTV News).
