A "Milk River" has appeared in Zhaozhou County, Heilongjiang Province, and the person in charge of the involved factory has been taken into custody.

Recently, the online blogger "Yuhun Qige" posted that a village in Zhaozhou County, Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, has witnessed the emergence of a "milk river," with the water appearing milky white, viscous in texture, and emitting a foul odor, causing serious ecological pollution. Villagers reported that this was due to wastewater discharge from a garlic slice factory. On the afternoon of August 7, a staff member from the Zhaozhou Ecological Environment Bureau stated that after noticing this situation, they immediately reported it to the county party committee and government. A special task force was formed to test water samples, and relevant departments are dealing with the pollution. The person in charge of the garlic slice factory involved has been taken into custody by the relevant authorities. The staff member told reporters that the garlic slice factory has complete licenses and is not an "unlicensed" factory; its production cycle lasts only about 10 days each year. Recently, there has been extreme rainfall in the local area, and the water is runoff that naturally formed a drainage channel, not a river. Additionally, the staff member indicated that it is not true that "there is a large discharge of milky white and irritating wastewater every year at this time," noting that it is the extreme weather this year that led to this situation.
