On Friday before the U.S. stock market opened, American stock index futures rose after U.S. President Trump stated that negotiations between Iran and Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz "are moving forward." Meanwhile, the market continues to monitor the upcoming employment data. Mark Malek, Chief Investment Officer at Siebert Financial, noted, "The market has recently been influenced by news related to Iran and statements from the government." He added that Trump's remarks "undoubtedly contributed to the positive trend in today's early trading." Later, investors will see economic data such as U.S. non-farm payroll numbers and the unemployment rate. Malek commented, "Regardless of inflation levels, the unemployed do not have the capacity to consume. While I understand the urgency of the Federal Reserve's focus on inflation, I suspect the labor market may not be as healthy as the surface data indicates. This could pose challenges for economic growth."
