Bosnia and Herzegovina's largest steel mill is heading toward bankruptcy reorganization.
According to news from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Zenica Steel Plant, which has a history of over 130 years, has decided to proceed with court-led bankruptcy restructuring due to the failure to reach an agreement with the government on a solution to its financial difficulties. The Zenica Steel Plant is the largest steel producer in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since the end of 2025, the plant has been suffering massive losses due to high debt and disruptions in the coking coal supply chain, and a court in Bosnia and Herzegovina initiated bankruptcy proceedings for the plant in February of this year.
