According to the official measurement by the China Earthquake Networks Center, a magnitude 4.9 earthquake struck Gao County, Yibin City, Sichuan Province at 13:08 on August 7, 2026, with a depth of 6 kilometers. Following the earthquake, the China Earthquake Administration quickly initiated a Level 4 emergency response, coordinating with the China Earthquake Networks Center and the Sichuan Provincial Earthquake Bureau to carry out emergency measures. Relevant units were instructed to conduct joint consultations, strengthen monitoring and analysis of seismic activity, and report relevant situations in a timely manner.
