The expectations reflected in the Australian financial market suggest that there is almost no possibility of an interest rate hike at the Reserve Bank of Australia's policy meeting next week. Mahjabeen Zaman, Head of Forex Research at ANZ, stated that the central bank may still signal a relatively hawkish stance, which could some upward momentum for the Australian dollar. She added that, meanwhile, there is virtually nothing in terms of commentary or action that could push towards a more dovish outcome than what the market has already priced in. The main unexpected factor could be voting disparities. Zaman noted that any dissent supporting a rate hike could slightly increase expectations for a hawkish tilt.
