On August 6 local time, a court in New Mexico, USA, ruled that Meta, the parent company of Instagram and Facebook, must pay $567 million to address the impact of its platforms on teenagers. Judge Brian Biedscheid stated that $420 million will be allocated for youth treatment services, while the remaining funds will be used over the next five years for promotion, prevention, screening services, and other related expenses.
