The daily trading volume of single stock leverage ETFs in South Korea has fallen below 1 trillion Korean won for the first time.
On Thursday, the Korea Exchange reported that following the implementation of restrictions by regulators, the average daily trading volume of 16 single stock leveraged ETFs fell to 919.8 billion won on Wednesday, marking its first drop below 1 trillion won since their listing on May 27. Last Friday, South Korea's financial regulators raised the minimum cash margin requirements for investing in single stock leveraged ETFs. Data shows that the daily trading volume of these 16 leveraged ETFs plummeted from 12.4 trillion won the previous day to 3.1 trillion won on Friday, dropping further to 1.3 trillion won on Monday and to 1.2 trillion won on Tuesday.
