Asian Copper stocks rise as copper prices hit a new high since May.

Asian copper stocks rose in early trading, with copper prices reaching their highest level since mid-May. On Tuesday, copper prices on the London Metal Exchange increased by 1.4% to $14,066.50 per ton. In July, more than 200,000 tons of copper arrived at U.S. ports, the highest monthly throughput recorded by IHS Markit shipping data since 2014. Despite uncertainty surrounding the U.S. plan to impose tariffs on refined copper, the pace of U.S. copper imports continues to accelerate. In the Australian market, Capstone Copper's stock rose by as much as 5.7%, Sandfire Resources increased by 3.4%, BHP climbed by 2.8%, and Rio Tinto was up 2.3%. In the Japanese market, Sumitomo Metal Mining rose by 4.1%, Mitsubishi Materials increased by 4.7%, Dowa was up 3.7%, and JX Nippon Mining & Metals gained 5.5%.
