According to the Passenger Car Association, in July 2026, the domestic market for new energy passenger vehicles saw a remarkable recovery. Based on preliminary monthly data from the association, the estimated wholesale volume of new energy passenger vehicles from domestic car manufacturers reached 1.47 million units that month, an increase of 23% year-on-year and a 1% decrease month-on-month. This represents the highest year-on-year growth rate for each month in 2026, and the month-on-month decline is less severe than the seasonal index, marking an initial sign of recovery in the domestic new energy vehicle sector. In contrast, the overall automotive market is under pressure and appears weak, with new energy vehicles becoming a core growth highlight in the domestic passenger vehicle market, as the market differentiation between old and new energy models continues to intensify.
