According to the latest memory industry research by TrendForce, due to the ongoing supply-demand imbalance in DRAM that is expected to last until 2027, and with variables in the verification progress of native HBM4e, NVIDIA has changed the HBM configuration for Rubin Ultra from HBM4e 12hi to an assessment of HBM4e 8hi, HBM4 12hi, and HBM4 8hi from the third quarter of 2026, and no final decision has been made yet. In addition to NVIDIA, some cloud service providers (CSPs) are also considering reducing the HBM capacity design for their next-generation self-developed ASICs.
