Cargo ship attacked near the Strait of Hormuz.
On the evening of the 3rd, the UK's Maritime Trade Operations Office reported that a cargo ship was attacked approximately 20 nautical miles northeast of Saeb in the Oman Sea. The report indicated that the location of the incident was near the eastern entrance of the Strait of Hormuz. The Maritime Trade Operations Office received a military report at Coordinated Universal Time on the 3rd at 22:00. The involved cargo ship reported via Very High Frequency radio that it had been struck by an unknown projectile. The Maritime Trade Operations Office recently reported multiple incidents of vessel attacks, mostly occurring in the shipping lanes closer to the Oman side. The agency advised passing vessels to remain vigilant, navigate cautiously, and report any suspicious activities in a timely manner.
