Brands, the parent company of Taco Bell, regarding a parasitic outbreak, several weeks before the company officially warned consumers. On July 2, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services discussed the issue of cyclospora with Yum! Brands and requested a connection with the companys supply chain quality assurance and public relations teams. Taco Bell stated that the company took swift action based on Michigan's guidance, removing potentially affected ingredients from some locations, but it was not until July 14 that this action was publicly confirmed.
