Chinese scientists first awarded the William Nordberg Medal.

On August 3 local time, at the 46th International Space Research Committee Scientific Conference held in Florence, Italy, Researcher Wang Jinsong from the China Meteorological Administration was awarded the William Nordberg Medal. The William Nordberg Medal is awarded to recognize outstanding achievements and contributions in the field of space science applications. Since the establishment of the medal in 1988, Wang Jinsong is the first Chinese scientist to receive this honor, along with the naming of an asteroid. This award indicates that China's research achievements in the field of space science and applications have gained high recognition in the international academic community.
