According to The Information, five informed sources revealed that the Trump administration invited employees from several tech companies, including OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic, to the White House on Tuesday to jointly review a finalized artificial intelligence regulatory framework. This framework will establish a voluntary process for AI labs to submit their models to the government for review before they are released to partners and the public. The scheduled meeting comes a few days after the completion deadline set by an executive order in early June (August 1). According to one source, the meeting will be hosted by the National Cyber Director's Office, which falls under the executive branch. This source also stated that the invitation explicitly mentioned that the discussion will focus on the next steps for the framework and a related activity that was not specified. According to two individuals, the meeting is expected to include employee-level representatives from the companies rather than executives, as it is not meant to be a public unveiling of the new framework.
