Shanghai: By 2030, a modern marine city will be basically completed.

Recently, the "14th Five-Year Plan for Water System Management in Shanghai" and the "14th Five-Year Plan for Marine Development in Shanghai" were officially issued and implemented. According to the plans, by 2030, Shanghai will have basically established a modern water system management system that is safe and resilient, high-quality and intensive, green and low-carbon, as well as smart and efficient, and will have essentially built an internationally leading modern coastal city and a leading area for the construction of a maritime power with Chinese characteristics. During the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, the total investment in the water sector in Shanghai reached approximately 135.2 billion yuan, with major projects such as the Wusongjiang Project and the Raw Water Western Ring Line being advanced in an orderly manner. In terms of the marine economy, by 2025, the city's marine gross production value is expected to reach 1.11 trillion yuan, accounting for 10% of the national marine gross production value, with output per unit area of sea remaining the highest in the country.
