Visa intends to acquire the cybersecurity company BioCatch for $2.4 billion.

On August 3, Visa announced that it has signed a final agreement to acquire the behavioral biometrics and fraud prevention company BioCatch from shareholders including Permira for $2.4 billion in cash. Visa stated that the acquisition aims to enhance its existing cybersecurity and risk management solutions, helping financial institutions such as banks to defend against threats like account theft, online fraud, and application fraud. The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of the second quarter of fiscal year 2027. BioCatch, founded in Israel, primarily uses artificial intelligence and behavioral biometrics technology to conduct real-time fraud prevention by analyzing signals such as keyboard typing and touch gestures.
